Advent Jazz Trip to Amsterdam with Kurt Elling

The Musical Highlight

On 15 December 2026, American jazz singer Kurt Elling will perform in the Main Hall of Amsterdam’s famous Concertgebouw.

A multiple Grammy Award winner, Elling is one of the most acclaimed voices in international jazz. His distinctive baritone voice and highly individual interpretations of familiar songs have earned him recognition far beyond the jazz world.

For the traditional end-of-year concert of the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, Kurt Elling presents a programme to get you into the Christmas spirit. Look forward to swinging Christmas classics and selected songs from his repertoire, accompanied by one of the Netherlands’ leading jazz big bands.

Another Concert Evening with the Christmas Oratorio by Johann Sebastian Bach

On 16 December 2026, you also have the opportunity to attend a performance of the Christmas Oratorio by Johann Sebastian Bach at the Concertgebouw.

The acclaimed Dutch chamber choir Nederlands Kamerkoor and the Baroque ensemble Cappella Mediterranea will perform the Christmas Oratorio, BWV 248, under the direction of Leonardo García Alarcón.

The soloists are Sophie Junker, Christopher Lowrey, Valerio Contaldo and Andreas Wolf.

The concert begins at 7.30 pm in the Main Hall of the Concertgebouw.

Discover Amsterdam During Advent
