In January 2026, the Royal Theatre Carré in Amsterdam will be the venue for the world premiere of the newly revised version of Sting's musical ‘The Last Ship’. Sting himself will be on stage in a leading role, exclusively in Amsterdam, before the production goes on an international tour.

Inspired by his childhood in the northern English shipbuilding town of Wallsend, ‘The Last Ship’ tells the story of a community fighting for its shipyard and its future, accompanied by music that combines folk elements, pop and classical influences.
