On 24 September 2026, you can attend the “Echoes of the Atlantic” concert featuring Amaro Freitas & Momi Maiga at De Roma in Antwerp. Amaro Freitas hails from Recife in Brazil and is one of the most exciting pianists on the contemporary jazz scene.
Momi Maiga comes from Casamance in Senegal and plays the kora, a West African stringed instrument with a bright, delicate tone.
The venue, De Roma, is located in the Borgerhout district of Antwerp and opened in 1928 as the Kinema Roma. The former cinema was a meeting place for the neighbourhood, a stage for variety shows, pop and rock, and has been transformed back into a vibrant cultural venue after many years of standing empty. The large hall with its stage and balcony still retains the character of an old cinema and is the perfect setting for this special jazz evening.

The Rock Lobster City Lodge is located in Zurenborg, one of Antwerp’s most beautiful residential areas.
You’ll find many Art Nouveau houses, particularly around Cogels Osylei.
A lovely walk takes you from the Zurenborg district towards the city centre, with a detour to the Cathedral of Our Lady, the Grote Markt and the Scheldt, the river that has shaped Antwerp as a port city for centuries.
A special tip is the MAS, the Museum aan de Stroom. MAS stands for ‘Museum on the River’. The museum is situated in the old harbour, and from the roof terrace you have a sweeping view over Antwerp.

Rock Lobster City Lodge
This small B&B has just five rooms. Each room is inspired by its own musical theme: Blues, Jazz, Electronic, Glam Rock
and Icelandic Studio.
The rooms are individually decorated and feature an en-suite bathroom with a shower or bath, depending on the room category.
Facilities include free Wi-Fi, a small coffee and tea station, and some rooms have a kitchenette.
Hotel August
Hotel August is located in the Groen Kwartier, a quiet neighbourhood in Antwerp. Belgian architect Vincent Van Duysen has transformed a former Augustinian monastery into a modern boutique hotel that combines historic brick architecture with clean lines.
The Superior Room features modern furnishings. Amenities include a minibar, safe, Wi-Fi speaker and a bathroom with a shower.
The layout may vary slightly depending on the room, as no two rooms at the August are exactly alike.
Hotel De Witte Lelie
Hotel De Witte Lelie is situated in the historic centre of Antwerp. The property comprises three 16th-century townhouses.
Behind the famous pink door lies a very unique hotel with just eleven rooms.
The Classic Room features a separate seating area and a bathroom with a combined bath and shower.
From here, you can easily reach the Old Town, the Grote Markt, the Cathedral and many restaurants on foot.
Music Travel Hideaways Special
The Rock Lobster Sessions take place regularly at the Rock Lobster City Lodge. These intimate living room concerts are held in the hotel lobby and are limited to just 45 tickets. Should a live session take place during your stay, we will secure tickets for you.
If no Rock Lobster Session is taking place during your trip, we invite you for a drink at the Honesty Bar, accompanied by music from the hotel’s vinyl collection.
