Berlin - Germany
Chamber concert by the DSO Berlin at Clärchens Ballhaus on 21 June 2026
The musical highlight
On 21 June 2026, the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin will be performing as part of its chamber music series in the Hall of Mirrors at Clärchens Ballhaus.
The programme features Olivier Messiaen’s ‘Appel interstellaire’ for solo horn from ‘Des Canyons aux étoiles ...’ as well as two works by Ernst von Dohnányi: the Serenade for String Trio in C major and the Sextet in C major for piano, clarinet, horn, violin, viola and cello.
The performers are Thomas Holzmann, Ozan Cakar, Kamila Glass, Kim Esther Roloff, Leslie Riva Ruppert and Anna Kirichenko, together with the Padma Ensemble.
What makes this evening special is not only the programme, but also the venue. Clärchens Ballhaus on Auguststraße is one of those Berlin venues that has tangibly preserved its history to this day. People have been dancing, partying and going out here since 1913.
The Hall of Mirrors on the first floor has survived two world wars and many decades of Berlin’s city history, and was reopened in 2024 following an extensive renovation.
The DSO is continuing the venue’s tradition and once again transforming the Hall of Mirrors into a chamber music venue in the heart of the city.
Discover Berlin
Start in the Mitte district at Fotografiska Berlin, a private museum of contemporary photography featuring temporary exhibitions and long opening hours; the Verōnika bar and restaurant are located in the same building.
It’s about a ten-minute walk from the Hotel Telegraphenamt, and around fifteen minutes from the Château Royal. Those wishing to continue their artistic journey can later head to the KÖNIG GALERIE in St. Agnes in Kreuzberg, a converted church with an impressive interior, now a venue for contemporary art.
