On 17 June 2026, a special stage production entitled *New Worlds* is coming to Berlin, led by Hollywood star Bill Murray

and cellist Jan Vogler. Together with Mira Wang and Vanessa Perez, they will present an evening that blends American literature and classical music.

The focus is on the interplay between language and music. Bill Murray lends his voice to texts by Walt Whitman, Ernest Hemingway and Mark Twain, whilst Jan Vogler, Mira Wang and Vanessa Perez respond with works ranging from Bach to Bernstein.

The result is not an ordinary concert evening, but a lively exchange between recitation, song and chamber music.

“New Worlds” is far more than a traditional reading accompanied by music. It is a quest for humanity, freedom and new beginnings.

The line-up is star-studded, the format unusual, and the atmosphere is alive with wit, perfect timing and a palpable sense of camaraderie between the artists.

In addition to the Philharmonic Hall, we recommend a venue that even many Berliners are unaware of and which is ideal for a concert evening in winter. On one of the other evenings of your stay, visit the Piano Salon Christophori, a unique combination of workshop and small concert hall in the Uferhallen in Berlin-Wedding. Sit on simple chairs in the middle of the room, surrounded by restored grand pianos, while chamber music is played. It feels more like a private salon evening than a classical concert and is a lovely contrast to the large stage of the Philharmonie.
