Berlin - Germany
Arvo Pärt Night at the Chamber Music Hall of the Berlin Philharmonie on 20 March 2027
The Musical Highlight
On 20 March 2027, the Estonian choir Vox Clamantis, conducted by Jaan-Eik Tulve, dedicates an entire evening to the great Estonian composer Arvo Pärt at the Chamber Music Hall of the Berlin Philharmonie.
Arvo Pärt, who celebrated his 91st birthday in September 2026, has created a musical language unlike that of almost any other contemporary composer. After his early experiments, he developed his own compositional style in the mid-1970s, known as Tintinnabuli, characterised by clear triads, restraint and a meditative quality.
Vox Clamantis is an ensemble with a particularly close connection to Arvo Pärt’s music.
For more than 25 years, the Grammy Award-winning choir has enjoyed an artistic collaboration with the composer.
Discover Berlin: The Philharmonie and a Hidden Gem
Alongside the Philharmonie, we recommend a place that even many Berliners do not know and which makes a wonderful setting for an evening of music. On another evening during your stay, visit the Piano Salon Christophori, an unusual combination of workshop and intimate concert venue in the Uferhallen in Berlin-Wedding.
Surrounded by restored grand pianos, you sit right in the heart of the space while chamber music is performed.
It feels more like a private salon concert than a traditional classical performance and offers a wonderful contrast to the Philharmonie.
