Burgundy - France
Musique & Vin au Clos Vougeot: Music festival in the wine castle from 20 to 27 June 2026
For your trip to Burgundy, we combine two locations that complement each other perfectly.
You will start your stay at the Château de Meauce, an exceptional castle located directly on the Allier, a wide, unspoilt river in central France. The round castle is one of the oldest in the region, has been a listed historic monument since 1923 and is located in the Bec d'Allier nature reserve.
Afterwards, you will travel on to the Côte d'Or around Beaune and Clos Vougeot, in the heart of the wine villages that make Burgundy so famous and along the Grand Cru vineyards, the region's top vineyards. You will stay at the Hôtel Abbaye de Maizières in Beaune, a small boutique hotel in a former Cistercian abbey in the heart of the old town. From here, you can easily reach the concerts of the Musique & Vin au Clos Vougeot festival.
The musical highlight
Musique & Vin au Clos Vougeot is a classical music festival running from 20 to 28 June 2026, combining concerts with wine tastings featuring regional wines. The concerts are held at historic locations in the region, most notably at the Château du Clos de Vougeot,
a historic wine castle in the Côte de Nuits. This section is located between Dijon and Beaune, where many wine villages are clustered close together.
The festival dates for 2026 have been set, but the detailed programme of concerts and artists has not yet been published. We will update this page as soon as the programme is announced. If you wish, you can also send us a quick message and we will send you the programme personally as soon as it is published.
Musically, the spectrum ranges from chamber music and piano recitals to large gala concerts with orchestra.
In the 2025 edition, for example, Yuja Wang, Jean-Yves Thibaudet and Sunwook Kim took to the stage.
Discover Burgundy
Beaune is the ideal starting point if you want to explore wine villages and markets during the day and travel comfortably to concerts in the evening. At the same time, it is worth taking a trip in a completely different direction, to the north of Burgundy. Châtillon sur Seine seems unassuming at first, until you discover the treasure of Vix in the Musée du Pays Châtillonnais. The centrepiece is a huge bronze vessel from around 500 BC, an ancient wine vessel over 1.60 metres high. The find comes from the tomb of the so-called Lady of Vix.
Proof that wine played a special role here over 2000 years ago.
Your travel option
This trip is ideal for a 7-day stay around the festival dates. If you would like a more compact itinerary or want to combine this trip with other destinations, we can plan any variation for you.
Accommodation:
Château de Meauce, Nièvre
You will start your stay at the Château de Meauce, a medieval castle directly on the Allier River, with three guest rooms and one suite.
The rooms have high ceilings, exposed wooden beams, light stone walls and large windows with classic shutters. Each room has its own spacious bathroom with a free-standing bathtub and an open shower, some with double washbasins.
Hôtel Abbaye de Maizières, Beaune
For the festival days, stay at the Hôtel Abbaye de Maizières, a small boutique hotel with 13 rooms and suites in the heart of the old town, housed in a former 12th-century abbey. The rooms are individually furnished, some with antique furniture, and depending on the category, some are maisonettes with a small gallery. Amenities include air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a safe and minibar, as well as an espresso machine or kettle, bathrobes and slippers, and Clarins toiletries.
To attend Musique & Vin concerts, travel from Beaune to Clos de Vougeot, approximately 20 km away.
