Opera trip to Lake Como: ‘Macbeth’

The musical highlight

On 4 July 2026, you can enjoy Giuseppe Verdi’s opera Macbeth in Como on the open-air stage of the Teatro Sociale di Como.

The performance is part of the Festival Como Città della Musica 2026, which will take place from 30 June to 12 July 2026.

The production is part of the twelfth edition of 200.Com, ‘Un progetto per la città’, a community opera project by the Teatro Sociale di Como. More than 200 music enthusiasts from Como and the surrounding area will take to the stage alongside professional soloists, conducted by Francesco Pasqualetti.

The city of Como is cosy, lively and, at the same time, very elegant. Como Cathedral, the Cattedrale di Santa Maria Assunta, is situated right next to the Teatro Sociale and is one of the city’s most important buildings.

A little tip for your stroll through Como: visit the Beretta Il Fornaio bakery in the centre and ask for La Nuvola. This soft, brioche-like pastry with apricot filling is a sweet speciality from Como and goes wonderfully with an espresso as a mid-morning treat.

Take the funicular to Brunate, above Como, and enjoy the sweeping views of the town, the lake and the mountains.
