Alfred Hitchcock’s film classic “Psycho” with live orchestra 22 January 2027
The musical highlight
Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho is one of cinema’s great classics. Bernard Herrmann’s score is every bit as famous as the film itself.
On 22 January 2027, Psycho will be shown on the big screen in Dresden, with Bernard Herrmann’s film score performed live by the orchestra of Staatsoperette Dresden. Chief Conductor Michael Ellis Ingram will lead the performance.
The evening takes place at Festspielhaus Hellerau. Built in 1911 to designs by Heinrich Tessenow, the venue was already a centre for new ideas in music, dance and architecture in the early 20th century. Today, HELLERAU – European Centre for the Arts is one of Dresden’s leading international venues for contemporary arts.
Experiencing the film with a live orchestra in HELLERAU’s Great Hall makes this an unusual musical evening and a wonderful reason for a long winter weekend in Dresden.
