The musical highlight
Two Advent evenings at the Polish Baltic Philharmonic Fryderyk Chopin in Gdańsk: first Tchaikovsky's ‘The Nutcracker’ with the Royal Classical Ballet, followed by Handel's ‘Messiah’.The PFB Orchestra and the Polish Chamber Choir Schola Cantorum Gedanensis will perform and sing. Rubén Silva will conduct.
Experience Gdańsk:
Oliwa is located west of the historic old town. Oliwski Park is particularly atmospheric in the evenings in winter, when light installations illuminate paths, tree-lined avenues and pavilions. A walk through the park is very romantic during Advent.
Our recommendation: visit Gdańsk's large Christmas market on Targ Węglowy in the old town, preferably on a weekday in the late afternoon, so you have enough time to browse the stalls selling handicrafts and culinary delicacies.
