Iceland Symphony Orchestra with Kian Soltani at the Elbphilharmonie on 26 March 2026
The musical highlight
The Iceland Symphony Orchestra will be performing with its principal conductor Eva Ollikainen, with Kian Soltani as soloist.
The programme ranges from Sibelius's ‘Pohjola's Daughter’ directly into the Nordic world of legends from the Kalevala, the Finnish national epic. Anna Thorvaldsdóttir provides a stark contrast with “Archora”, a rough, modern piece featuring the organ of the Grand Hall. The concert concludes with Stravinsky's ‘The Firebird’ (Suite 1919).
