Music Holiday in Corsica 2027: Rencontres de Calenzana, 17–24 August 2027
The Musical Highlight
In August, one of Corsica's most interesting music holidays doesn't lead to a grand concert hall, but through the Balagne in the north-west of the island.
The Rencontres de Calenzana bring together classical music, chamber music, contemporary works and Corsican voices with places that become part of the concert experience themselves. Concerts are performed in small churches and chapels, in village squares and gardens.
The festival has been held around Calenzana for more than 25 years and involves numerous villages in the Balagne as well as Calvi and L'Île-Rousse.
The next edition in 2027 has been announced for 17–24 August.

Corsica for Music Lovers
The Balagne lies in the north-west of Corsica. Calvi and L'Île-Rousse are particularly well suited as bases for the festival holiday.
Calvi sits on a wide bay, overlooked by its historic citadel. Below it, the harbour begins, lined with cafés and small restaurants.
The long sandy beach is just a few steps from the town centre.
L'Île-Rousse is smaller and quieter. The old town, the covered market hall and the town beach all lie close together.
The day can begin at the market in the morning, continue by the sea in the afternoon, and end with a concert in one of the villages in the evening.
The Corsican island railway runs along the coast between Calvi and L'Île-Rousse. Part of the route runs right along the sea and past small coves.

This 5-star hotel is set above Calvi in the Balagne. Its elevated position opens up views across the bay towards the citadel.
The hotel is a good choice if you'd like to combine Calvi with concerts in the surrounding villages. Depending on the destination, most venues can be reached by car in around 30 to 45 minutes.

This small 4-star hotel is right in the centre of L'Île-Rousse, just a few steps from the sea. The town beach begins a little further on.
