The Musical Highlight

Yuja Wang is one of those pianists who commands attention from the moment she sits down at the piano. With her extraordinary technique, energy and distinctive approach to interpreting music, she captivates audiences in the world's leading concert halls.

On 14 May 2027, she will perform a solo recital at Teatro alla Scala in Milan.

The historic opera house is best known for its opera productions, but its ‘Grandi Pianisti alla Scala’ concert series also welcomes some of today's most distinguished pianists for solo recitals.

Yuja Wang is no stranger to La Scala. She has previously performed here with the Filarmonica della Scala. Now she returns for an evening alone at the piano.

The concert begins at 8.00 pm. The full programme will be announced at a later date.

Another Evening at La Scala?

On Saturday 15 May 2027, Giuseppe Verdi's opera ‘Macbeth’ will be performed at Teatro alla Scala.

Two evenings at La Scala could hardly be more different: Yuja Wang alone at the piano on Friday, followed by Verdi's ‘Macbeth’ with orchestra, chorus and a full opera cast on Saturday.

Italian Design and a Peaceful Courtyard in the Fashion District

Senato Hotel Milano is located on Via Senato, in the heart of Milan's fashion district, just a few minutes' walk from Via Montenapoleone and Via della Spiga. La Scala and the Duomo are both approximately 15 minutes away on foot.

This 43-room boutique hotel occupies a former family palazzo. Its interiors combine original architectural features with contemporary Italian design. The bright rooms feature oak parquet flooring, handcrafted brass lighting and bathrooms finished in Carrara marble.

A particularly lovely feature is the small courtyard garden with its water feature. At Senato Caffè, you can enjoy a morning espresso or an aperitivo before the concert. A rooftop terrace with a sunbathing area and a fitness room are also available to guests.

You will stay in a Superior Double Room with a large double bed, a bathroom with a bath or shower and two washbasins, air conditioning, minibar, safe, Smart TV and espresso machine. Bathrobes are also provided.

Classic Room, for Single Occupancy

For solo travellers, we offer a Classic Room. Decorated in the same style, it features a bathroom with Carrara marble, air conditioning, minibar, safe and Smart TV.

Colourful Design by Patricia Urquiola, Just Steps from the Duomo

Room Mate Collection Giulia is located just a few steps from Milan's Duomo and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II.

La Scala is approximately a five-minute walk away.

The hotel's 85 rooms and public spaces were designed by internationally renowned designer Patricia Urquiola. Colourful fabrics, geometric patterns and contemporary Italian furniture are combined with traditional materials such as marble and terracotta.

Compared with the other two boutique hotels, Giulia has a livelier, more unconventional style. It is an interesting choice for guests who appreciate modern design and want to stay right in Milan's historic centre.
