New Year’s Eve 2026 in Versailles:
‘La Fille du Régiment’ at the Opéra Royal
The Musical Highlight
On 31 December 2026, you will experience Gaetano Donizetti’s La Fille du Régiment at the Opéra Royal at the Château de Versailles.
This French-language opéra-comique is one of Donizetti’s great successes.
Catherine Trottmann sings Marie, with Patrick Kabongo as Tonio. Gaétan Jarry conducts, with stage direction by Jean-Romain Vesperini. The costumes are by Christian Lacroix.
We have reserved tickets for you in the best “Doge” category, including a cocktail reception before the performance and Champagne during the interval.
After the performance, the New Year will be welcomed with fireworks by the Galerie des Glaces, weather permitting.
The Opéra Royal at the Château de Versailles
The Opéra Royal, an 18th-century theatre, is one of France’s most atmospheric historic performance venues.
Its wood-panelled auditorium creates a very special setting.
The walk through the palace grounds sets the mood for the evening. Exactly the right backdrop for a festive New Year’s Eve.

Your journey begins in Versailles. You celebrate New Year’s Eve at the Opéra Royal and stay at Le Louis Hotel. On New Year’s Day, you move into central Paris and check into the Hotel d’Angleterre in Saint-Germain-des-Prés. This allows you to experience two sides of the journey:
the palace and park on the one hand, and Parisian city life on the other.
In the morning, Paris feels pleasantly quiet. A coffee at the counter, a visit to a gallery, a short walk along the Seine.
In the evening, bistros and small bars bring the streets back to life. A relaxed way to begin the new year.

Le Louis Hotel Versailles Château
For New Year’s Eve, you stay in Versailles. Le Louis Hotel Versailles Château combines a historic façade with contemporary interiors.
The château is just a few minutes’ walk away, and the Opéra Royal is easily reached on foot.
The bar is a pleasant place for a drink after the performance, and breakfast is served at the hotel.

Hotel d’Angleterre Saint-Germain-des-Prés
On New Year’s Day, you continue to Paris. The Hotel d’Angleterre is tucked away in a quiet side street in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, with plenty of Parisian atmosphere. Cafés, galleries and the Seine are all within easy walking distance.
Stay: 1 to 3 January 2027
Room: Deluxe Room, approx. 35 m², including breakfast
Travel price from €1,180 per person sharing a double room / from €1,780 in a single room
A private transfer from Versailles to Paris can be arranged on request.
