Opera, concerts, chanson and jazz in Paris
Paris is one of Europe’s great music cities. You will find opera and ballet at the Opéra Bastille and the Palais Garnier.
The Philharmonie de Paris welcomes international orchestras and soloists. And, of course, jazz and chanson are also an integral part of the city’s music scene.
We combine the musical highlight with a carefully selected hotel and special addresses in Paris.
From 5 to 8 November 2026, we are travelling to see Puccini’s 'Manon Lescaut' at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées.
You can find full details of the offer under Offers - Opera.
Opera and concerts in Paris
The Opéra national de Paris presents performances in two very different opera houses, the Palais Garnier and the Opéra Bastille.
Opened in 1875, the Palais Garnier is one of the city’s major sights in its own right. Today, it mainly hosts ballet performances as well as selected operas, concerts and recitals.
The Opéra Bastille is the city’s large modern opera house.
For symphonic concerts, head to the Philharmonie de Paris, home of the Orchestre de Paris.
Our tips
Four addresses away from the grand stages
Musée de la musique
Part of the Cité de la musique, the Musée de la musique houses a major collection of historic instruments and objects spanning several centuries of music history.
A visit to the museum can be easily combined with an evening concert at the Philharmonie.
Paris for vinyl fans
For a very different kind of music tip, head to Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine, just north of the Paris city limits.
Here you will find the Marchés aux Puces, Saint-Ouen’s famous flea-market district. Among the antiques, design pieces and vintage finds are some interesting places to browse for records.
One of them is VINYLS SHOP at 53 Rue Jules Vallès.
In the footsteps of Serge Gainsbourg
For fans of French music, Maison Gainsbourg in Rue de Verneuil is another special address.
Serge Gainsbourg lived in the house for more than twenty years. His former living quarters can now be visited. Opposite is a museum dedicated to his life and music.
Jazz in a special Parisian setting
Le Bal Blomet in the 15th arrondissement was founded as far back as 1924. The historic cabaret is once again a concert venue today.
