Salzburg 2025/ 2026 - Here is where the music plays

Salzburg inspires with a variety of first-class festivals, opera performances and concerts. Be enchantid by the unique cultural highlights that make Salzburg a special destination.

Starting in January, the Mozart Week opens the cultural year around Mozart's birthday.

The festival season kicks off with the Salzburg Easter Festival (27 March to 6 April 2026).

Salzburg Easter Festival 2026: Programme overview

The focus is on the start of a new ‘Ring of the Nibelung’: Kirill Petrenko conducts the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra in Richard Wagner's ‘Das Rheingold’ at the Felsenreitschule.

There will also be two major choral concerts featuring Haydn's oratorio ‘Die Schöpfung’ under Daniel Harding and Mahler's 8th Symphony with Kirill Petrenko, an orchestral concert with works by Brahms, Bruch and Berlioz, several chamber concerts and late-night concerts, as well as the Be Phil special concert with Mozart and Dvořák, in which amateur musicians will share the stage with members of the Berlin Philharmonic.
