Alexander Ekman meets the EUROPA 2
A 13-day cruise from Tenerife to Civitavecchia, near Rome, aboard the MS EUROPA 2 (Hapag-Lloyd Cruises) from 21 July to 3 August 2027
The voyage takes in the Canary Islands, Portugal and Andalusia before heading to the Balearic Islands. The EUROPA 2 then sets course for Sardinia, La Maddalena and Corsica. Several long port calls and overnight stays in Málaga and La Maddalena allow plenty of time to explore each destination.
The artistic highlight: Alexander Ekman’s exclusive dance piece
Swedish choreographer Alexander Ekman brings contemporary dance on board the EUROPA 2.
He created the piece “TAKE FIVE” especially for the ship, which premiered on board in 2024.
The production brings together dancers from internationally renowned companies. Alexander Ekman incorporates the ship’s movement and life on board into the choreography. His style combines fast-paced dance with humour and satire. Athleticism and precise movements are paired with a production that deliberately plays with expectations of classical stage dance.
Alexander Ekman began his career at the Royal Swedish Ballet and later worked for, amongst others, Nederlands Dans Theater 2,
the Opéra National de Paris and the Berlin State Ballet.

Arrival and departure
The cruise begins in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and ends in Civitavecchia, near Rome.
We can book an optional flight and transfer package for your journey to Tenerife and your return journey from Rome.
It is also possible to arrange a pre-cruise stay in Tenerife or an extended stay in Rome.
