Merano Festival in Merano: Orquestra Johann Sebastian Rio and Linus Roth on 27 August 2026

The musical highlight

On 27 August 2026, Linus Roth will perform together with the Orquestra Johann Sebastian Rio at the Kursaal Meran.

Under the title ‘SamBach: Samba & Bach’, the evening combines Bach with Brazilian classics, from the great concert works

of Heitor Villa-Lobos to the bossa nova melodies of Antônio Carlos Jobim.

Linus Roth plays with an energy that is instantly infectious and an elegance that is particularly well suited to a summer evening at the Kursaal Merano.

The South Tyrol Festival Merano will take place from 16 August to 22 September 2026. If you would like to choose another programme within the festival, we can also arrange trips to other concert dates. Around 27 August, this trip can be ideally extended, for example with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra on 26 August or the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra on 28 August, both at the Kursaal Meran.

If you would like to get to know South Tyrol through its wine, the Pratenberg Wine Lodge near Merano is a very suitable address.

In the in-house tasting barn, you can enjoy a tasting of the winery's four wines, Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc and Vernatsch, accompanied by South Tyrolean bacon, cheese and Schüttelbrot.

Pratenberg Wine Lodge, Merano

You will stay above the town in the vineyards of a private winery, with sweeping views over Merano. The lodge is part of a historic farmstead, parts of which date back to the 17th century and have been carefully renovated with modern design, resulting in a clear,

high-quality and very personal atmosphere.

The Wine Lodge offers stylish apartments, ideal if you value privacy and plenty of space. The garden, outdoor pool with panoramic views and sauna are perfect for relaxing, especially after a concert evening.

The Kurhaus Merano is about a 10-minute drive away.

If you wish, we can also organise a wine tasting for you directly at the winery.

Hotel Vinea, apartments in Dorf Tirol

You will stay at Hotel Vinea in Dorf Tirol, an aparthotel with stylish architecture and a relaxed atmosphere on the quiet outskirts of the village. The heated infinity pool offers beautiful panoramic views. There is a wellness area with saunas, ideal after a day out or before an evening concert.

For this trip, we are reserving an apartment with a terrace overlooking the Passeier Valley.

Breakfast at the Vinea is flexible: you can enjoy a regional breakfast buffet or, if you prefer more privacy, have fresh bread rolls delivered to your apartment.

The Vinea Apartments are about 3 km from the Kurhaus Meran.

Your individual journey

You can travel comfortably to Bolzano by plane. Alternatively, you can also travel by train, for example to Bolzano or Merano, changing trains in Munich or Innsbruck. If you would like to be flexible once you arrive, we can also organise a hire car for you.
