Two concert evenings that could hardly be more different.

“Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” in Concert

On 12 December 2026, “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” will be shown on the big screen at the Zénith de Strasbourg, with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg performing John Williams’ complete film score live.

Timothy Henty conducts. The performance begins at 8.00 pm and lasts approximately three hours.

The film will be shown in the original English version with French subtitles.

An evening for film music lovers and anyone who would like to hear John Williams performed live by a full symphony orchestra.

A second special evening of music

Monteverdi’s Vespers of the Blessed Virgin at the Opéra national du Rhin

On 14 December 2026, the musical world changes completely.

At the Opéra national du Rhin, you will hear Claudio Monteverdi’s “Vespro della Beata Vergine”, the Vespers of the Blessed Virgin.

Published in 1610, it is regarded as one of the great works of the early Baroque.

Lionel Sow conducts the Balthasar Neumann Orchestra together with the soloists and choir of the Balthasar Neumann Ensemble.

After John Williams, this concert provides a wonderful contrast.

Discover Strasbourg

Strasbourg is a wonderful city to explore on foot.

Start in Petite France, the city’s oldest quarter, with its half-timbered houses lining the water.

From there, stroll towards the Grande Île, Strasbourg’s historic centre on an island, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

One place not to miss is St Thomas’ Church, the Église Saint-Thomas. It is internationally known for its Silbermann organ dating from 1741, on which Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart gave a public performance in 1778. The historic organ console is on display inside the church.

Hôtel & Spa Le Bouclier d'Or ****

Set in a 16th-century building in the heart of historic Petite France, the hotel is just a five-minute walk from Strasbourg Cathedral.

The rooms are furnished with antiques, and the hotel also has a tea room and a spa with sauna, hammam and whirlpool.

You will stay in a Deluxe Double Room of approximately 21 m². Each room is slightly different. Some feature traditional Alsatian touches, with painted furniture and exposed roof beams, while others are furnished with antiques and historic wardrobes.

All Deluxe Rooms have a double bed and a bathroom with a large walk-in shower. Wi-Fi, air conditioning, safe and TV are also provided.

Hôtel Hannong ****

Hôtel Hannong is a family-run hotel in the heart of Strasbourg. Established in the 1920s, it combines elements from this period with contemporary design. Art continues to play an important role throughout the hotel.

Petite France is around 200 metres away, Place Kléber is also just a short walk from the hotel, and Strasbourg Cathedral can easily be reached on foot. The main railway station is approximately 600 metres away.

You will stay in a Standard Double Room of approximately 15 m². The rooms are compact and contemporary, with a double bed,

air conditioning, Wi-Fi, minibar, desk, TV and a small welcome tray with tea and coffee-making facilities.
