The musical highlight

On 30 May 2026, the Thun City Orchestra will perform a Beethoven programme.

In the Schadausaal of the KKThun, the culture and congress centre, the orchestra will play the Concerto for Piano and Orchestra

No. 1 in C major, Op. 15, and the Symphony No. 4 in B flat major, Op. 60.

The soloist will be Swiss pianist Teo Gheorghiu, with Laurent Gendre conducting. Teo Gheorghiu has won numerous international piano competitions.

He is also known to a wider audience through the film ‘Vitus’, in which he plays a highly gifted boy. The final scene of the film uses live recordings of his 2004 concert at the Tonhalle Zurich with Robert Schumann's piano concerto.

Schloss Schadau - a boutique hotel in the park by the lake

Schloss Schadau is located in the middle of the historic Schadau Park, right on the shores of Lake Thun. The 19th-century listed castle has been carefully renovated and is now a small, very personal boutique hotel. From the hotel, it is about a fifteen-minute walk along the lake to the old town of Thun.

The nine rooms and suites of this boutique hotel are individually furnished, many with views of the park or lake. On mild spring evenings, the historic rooms open onto the castle terrace, where you can sit and enjoy views of Lake Thun, with the peaks of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau visible in the distance.

Breakfast is served in the historic hall or, weather permitting, on the terrace.

The large double rooms (approx. 30 to 35 square metres) are located in the bay window with high windows and an idyllic view of the park.

The room has a cosy sitting area with a chaise longue, a small desk and a bathroom with shower and toilet.
