From 28 October to 1 November 2026, Valletta’s historic palaces and churches will be transformed into concert halls.
Valletta is the perfect setting for this. Malta’s Baroque capital is brought to life by centuries-old city palaces, quiet, romantic courtyards and grand staircases. As soon as the official 2026 programme is published, we will put together a trip for you to coincide with the concert evenings.

Valletta, the smallest capital city in Europe, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with grand palaces, narrow lanes and charming cafés.

The baroque Teatru Manoel is one of Europe’s oldest opera houses and offers a distinctive setting for concerts.

Stroll through the narrow streets of Valletta. The city is at its most beautiful in the early evening. It’s well worth a visit to the Upper Barrakka Gardens; from there, you can look out over the Grand Harbour and immediately understand why Valletta is a fortress city.
If you don’t want to head back to your hotel straight after the concert, pop down to Strait Street. Here you’ll find little bars and music venues.
And here’s a little tip: musicians often play in the evenings at the Bridge Bar, near St Lucia Street. It’s the perfect way to round off the day.

Gozo - the island of opera

Anyone visiting Malta should not miss out on its sister island, Gozo. Accessible by ferry from Valletta, Gozo surprises visitors with an opera tradition deeply rooted in local culture. In the capital, Victoria, two major opera houses stand opposite each other: the Teatru Astra and the Aurora Opera House. 

Gozo is worth a visit for more than just the opera. Among the island’s most beautiful sights are the Citadel in Victoria, the Ġgantija Temples and the Dwejra coast with the Inland Sea and its striking rocky landscape.

Casa Ellul is a very small boutique hotel with just nine individually designed suites, set on a quiet side street in Valletta’s old town,

Old Theatre Street. You are right in the middle of things, with Teatru Manoel only a few steps away.
The hotel focuses on design and privacy, with a lovely internal courtyard.

Room: Deluxe Suite (approx. 30 m²), including breakfast
The Deluxe Suite faces the courtyard and is generously laid out, with a separate seating area. Facilities include a minibar, in-room tea and coffee, air conditioning, a safe and Wi-Fi.

The Gomerino Hotel, Valletta ****
The Gomerino is very centrally located on St Paul Street in a historic building and has 44 rooms. The hotel features a spa area and pools (indoors and on the rooftop). It is about a 10-minute walk to Teatru Manoel.

Room: Classic Double Room (20 m²), including breakfast
The Classic Room is compact and quietly positioned, facing the courtyard. It is available with a double bed or twin beds and has marble flooring. In-room facilities include tea and coffee, a safe and Wi-Fi.
