Valletta - Malta

Valletta Baroque Festival: A chamber music recital at Verdala Palace on 13 January 2026

From 8 - 25 January 2026, the Valletta Baroque Festival presents renowned soloists and ensembles from the international baroque music scene.

The concerts will take place in impressive historical venues, including St John's Co-Cathedral, Verdala Palace, Palazzo Parisio and Teatru Manoel.

The musical highlight

A chamber music recital on 13 January 2026 in the special atmosphere of Verdala Palace: Lillian Gordis and Jérôme Hantaï interpret Baroque masters such as Marais, Couperin, Forqueray and Bach. The palace is the summer residence of the President of Malta and is not normally open to the public. It will be opened for selected concerts as part of the Valletta Baroque Festival.

Or

you can go to the Teatru Manoel on 11 January 2026:

'Nemici d'Amore – Lacrime, Follia e Passione'
Soprano Francesca Lombardi Mazzulli shows the many facets of love in Baroque opera in rapid live transformations. The programme includes works by Monteverdi, Cavalli, Handel and Vivaldi. The setting could hardly be more fitting: the Teatru Manoel, Malta's national theatre from 1731/1732 and one of the oldest performing venues in Europe.

Experience Malta, between history, sun and Mediterranean lifestyle
