The Martha Graham Dance Company will be performing at the Teatro La Fenice in May 2026. The company is considered the oldest modern dance company in the United States and is returning to Venice to celebrate its centenary.

The programme features three works by Martha Graham that showcase very different facets: ‘Diversion of Angels’ (1948),

‘Lamentation’ (1930) and “Chronicle” (1936). The performance is complemented by ‘En Masse’ by Hope Boykin with music by Leonard Bernstein, a more recent work that bridges the gap to the present day.

Stroll across Campo San Beneto to the Museo Fortuny. It is located in the Palazzo Pesaro degli Orfei, the former home and studio of Mariano Fortuny. Fortuny was an artist, inventor and fabric designer with a flair for stage and lighting, which is precisely why this place is so well suited to an afternoon at the Teatro La Fenice.
