Savonlinna Opera Festival 2027 at Olavinlinna Castle

The Savonlinna Opera Festival will take place from 3 to 31 July 2027 and will celebrate its 115th anniversary this summer. Performances are held at the medieval Olavinlinna Castle, which is situated on an island in Lake Saimaa. The route to the performance leads across bridges directly into the castle courtyard.
Anyone who has been there before knows that this opera trip to Finland is a truly special experience.

The 2027 Opera Programme

There are four productions to choose from:

• The Barber of Seville by Gioachino Rossini
• The Magic Flute by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
• Andrea Chénier by Umberto Giordano
• Carmen by Georges Bizet

Andrea Chénier will be performed at Olavinlinna Castle for the first time in 2027. Carmen will be staged in Savonlinna as a guest performance by the Estonian National Opera.
